Winners Church Celebrates As Bishop Oyedepo’s Deputies, Abioye, Aremu, Retire
12th October 2024, NewsOrient, News
There are indications that by next week, two Vice Presidents of Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel), Bishops David Abioye and Thomas Aremu. (Bishop David Oyedepo’s influential Deputies), will be formally retired as Vice Presidents in the ministry.
Although the Church is yet to formally announce the development, NewsOrient learnt that the exit of these two very influential Bishops will be celebrated by the Church and Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder and President of the ministry.
This is even as the grand celebration of Bishop Oyedepo’s birthday continues
Reports in Church Times and The Punch said the planned retirement of Bishops Abioye and Aremu is in line with the ministry’s new mandate, which requires Bishops and senior pastors to retire at 55, except Bishop David Oyedepo, who is to retain his position for life.
A Punch report quoted one of the pastors in the ministry as saying: “We have heard that Bishop Abioye and the other Bishop Aremu in Ibadan will leave during the Bishop Oyedepo birthday celebration.
“That is the new law in the church; only Bishop Oyedepo can remain in his position for life.
“One of the two bishops has even been considering leaving for a while, so this is not news to some of us in the church,” he said.
