Osun Guber Election: INEC Receives Non-Sensitive Materials
The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday said it had received virtually all non-sensitive materials for the forthcoming July 16 governorship poll in Osun State.
This was disclosed by the INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Prof Abdulganiyy Raji, while speaking at a two-day workshop organised by the state government in collaboration with KA Media Consultants for journalists and information officers in the state, on ‘election coverage’.
The REC, who was represented by the Head of Department, Election and Party Monitoring, Mr Shehu Muhammad, said the commission had embarked on series of engagement with different groups and stakeholders; educating people on the need for collaboration that would guarantee a peaceful poll.
Raji stated that renovation work had commenced in places designated as collation centres and registration area camps.
He said “Going by the level of preparedness towards the conduct of the governorship election today in Osun State, we are 95 per cent ready as the office has taken delivery and custody of virtually all non-sensitive materials, and batching has been done at local government areas.
