A Nigerian boxer, Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, who held both National and West African light-heavyweight champion titles has been confirmed dead after he collapsed during a boxing match in Ghana, yesterday Saturday.

He reportedly lost consciousness while facing Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena.

Attempts to revive the renowned boxer inside the ring failed as he was later confirmed dead.

Reports show that he was leading on points in the contest before the tragic incident occurred.
