Nigeria Faced With Corruption, Insecurity But Don’t Pity Me For I Asked For Job Of President – Tinubu

Nigeria’s new President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has admitted that Nigeria is faced with corruption and insecurity but asked not to be pitied since he asked to be made the President of Nigeria.

He assured that he will meet Nigerian people’s expectations and that he has no excuses to give for failure.

He said: “We have corruption, insecurity and many problems confronting us… but don’t pity me. I asked for the job. I campaigned for it. No excuses.

“I will live up to expectation, I promise you.”

Tinubu said these on Sunday during his inauguration dinner and gala night in Abuja.

Tinubu was finally sworn-in today at Eagles Square venue of the Presidential Inauguration in a grand ceremony that formally started by 10am.

He was made the 16th President of Nigeria today at the Eagle Square in the ceremony witnessed by many foreign Heads of Government and two former Nigerian Heads of Government, General Yakubu Gowon and former President Goodluck Jonathan, amongst other dignitaries.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari who served two terms in office from 2015 to 2019, as President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces and his wife, Aisha, were present at the inauguration of Tinubu as President and Kashim Shettima as Vice President.

Buhari had earlier said immediately after the inauguration ceremonies, he will leave Abuja to his home in Daura.
