Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly conduct and assault of an aircrew member aboard an Ibom Air flight has confirmed that a Magistrate Court in Lagos State has released her from detention at Kirikiri Prison but added that she is still in pains due to how she was treated.

She said this on Wednesday evening in an Instagram post she shared soon after she was discharged by the court.

NewsOrient has reported earlier that Ms Emmanson’s arrest, treatment and the way she was hastily charged to court and detained caused nationwide outrage.

We reported that human rights activists, including Nigerian Bar Association were outraged that a lady could so humiliated to the extent of being stripped in public and on camera and the same indecent scene so glaringly published to the world before dragging her to prison without fair trial.

We report here however that following the public outrage, Ms Comfort has been released after an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba presided over by Magistrate, Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge brought against her.

After regaining her freedom, Ms Emmanson wrote on her Instagram page: “Thank you so much for all the Prayers, Love, and support, I’ve been released from the Prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much my Lovely Friends and Supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the button of my heart. God bless y’all. THANK YOU MY GREAT GOD!!!”
