It was a carnival of sort yesterday, September 10, 2022, when supporters of Mr Peter Obi practically took over Enugu during a one million man march to drum support for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in Nigeria’s 2023 Election.

NewsOrient reports that the march, which began with Obidients in tens of thousands, grew steadily at every spot as many supporters, on sighting the mammoth crowd, enthusiastically closed their businesses to join the march.

As a result of the large number of participants, the march, which commenced at the Michael Okpara Square, grounded vehicular movement within the metropolis.

A Co-Director of the Planning Committee, Enugu One-Million-Man Fitness March for Obi-Datti Season One, Dr. Chima Edoga, told journalists that“Nigerians are demonstrating their resolve to retake their country.”

According to him, the rally which has been going on across the country, was “a demonstration to critics that the masses are Obi’s structures.”

Mrs Chinyere Okoye, who participated in the march, re-echoed that concept when she told NewsOrient on Sunday in Uwani area of Enugu that “the march was a carnival I enjoyed yesterday,” adding, “I personally see the the huge turn out as a practical demonstration of  the existing people’s structure for the realisation of Obi-Datti Presidency in 2023.”
