President Muhammadu Buhari will unveil the new naira notes on Wednesday.

The unveiling was announced by the Governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele who addressed journalists at the end of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, said the unveiling will hold by 10am Wednesday.

According to Emefiele, the CBN had received the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to effect the change of the notes and the old notes would cease to be legal tender from January 31, 2023.

President Buhari is expected to launch the new Naira notes.
