The ministerial nominee from Kaduna State who suddenly collapsed during Wednesday’s Senatorial Screening at the Senate, Balarabe Lawal, has blamed “exhaustion for his sudden collapse during the crucial national exercise in Abuja, Nigeria.
Addressing journalists in Abuja after the incident, Lawal said he is “alright now,” adding that his ordeal was caused by “exhaustion.”
“I’m alright now. I’ve been treated and I’m alright now. It was basically exhaustion,” he said in a report monitored in Channels Television.
NewsOrient reports that notwithstanding the incident, Lawal, a nominee from Kaduna State, was confirmed by the Senate alongside his fellow nominees.
The other nominees screened and confirmed on Wednesday alongside Lawal include, Jamila Ibrahim (Kwara) and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo).
They will join the 45 ministers previously confirmed by Senate in August 2023.
