Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the man soon to be unveiled as the Labour Party’s substantive Vice Presidential Candidate and Peter Obi’s running mate in the 2023 Presidential Election in Nigeria was born to the Baba-Ahmed family in Zaria, 46 years ago.

A one time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Datti graduated from the University of Maiduguri.

After schooling, he worked in the banking industry for some years before he entered politics.

He has four degrees; a BSc and MSc in Economics from University of Maiduguri, an MBA from University of Wales, Cardiff and in 2006, he completed his PhD studies at the University of Westminster.

 He worked as a Banking Officer, First Bank of Nigeria Plc from July 1997 to December 1998 and then came back to become the Managing Director of Baze Research and Data Services Ltd in July 1999 – January 2003, before venturing into politics
