2023: LP Names Osuntokun New DG of Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council
Akin Osuntokun, a former Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria, has been appointed the new Director-General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
Julius Abure, the party’s National Chairman, who made this announcement in Abuja on Tuesday, after a strategic meeting which had members of the National Working Committee and several political candidates of the Labour Party in attendance, described Osuntokun as “a worthy replacement for Okupe.”
Like Okupe, Osuntokun was a former Political Adviser to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Explaining how Osuntokun emerged the DG of the Campaign Council, LP National Chairman, Abure, said “the decision was reached after wide consultations with party stakeholders across board.”
It would be recalled that Doyin Okupe, the former occupant of the position, stepped down as the DG of the Council after his conviction in a money laundering matter.
