Why I Will Not Contest Kogi Governorship Election Result – Dino Melaye
December 1, 2023 NewsOrient
Dino Melaye, the Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said why he will not contest the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Nov 11 Kogi Governorship polls.
According to him, he will not contest the announced result because he has lost confidence in the judiciary.
He said this on Wednesday, November 29.
Melaye, according to a report in The Nation, further alleged that the court is now an APC department rather than an autonomous institution.
It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced APC candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11 governorship election in the state.
Reacting to the development, Dino said: “Judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people; it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress.
“Why should any responsible person go to the tribunal when the APC has captured the judiciary? I have lost complete confidence in the judiciary.”
