Some dissatisfied youths in Nasarawa State today protested against Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Eyewitnesses said this afternoon that even in Lafia, the State capital, the protest snowballed into a full scale riot soon after the Supreme Court’s ruling that upheld the election of the State Governor became public knowledge.

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress-led State Government alleged that the rioters are supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the election, David Ombugadu.

But as at the time of filing this report, the details are yet to be gathered. All that have been noted are that the angry protesters barricaded some streets, including the Lafia-Jos road of the state.

There are also reports that the rioters were burning tires on the streets, forcing business owners to close their shops and offices.

A report even said schools within the Lafia metropolis had to close immediately.
