Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai has joined the saints triumphant as he took his final bow on 6th October 2025.

Highly respected as one of the most outstanding Christian faith leaders from Nigeria and indeed Africa, Rev Ukpai passed at 80.

Born in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, on January 17, 1945, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai was the Founder of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.

Through this association, which he founded in the 1970s, he spearheaded numerous successful crusades and revival meetings that drew massive crowds across Africa, Europe, and North America and witnessed outstanding miracles that proclaim God’s power and reality.

NewsOrient reports that this father of Christian faith slept in the Lord on October 6, 2025.

The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a non-denominational gospel ministry which he founded and presided over, is based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Rev Dr Uma Ukpai was also a key leader of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, being a founder and highly respected voice of the Christian movement.
