Police Begin Manhunt For Killers Of Customary Court Judge In Imo

The Police in Imo State have commenced manhunt for the killers of a Customary Court Judge, Nnaemeka Ugboma.

Insecurity in Imo State was again proven beyond doubt when gunmen, in broad daylight, invaded the judge’s courtroom on Thursday while he was presiding over a matter.

Eye witnesses said the armed men “dragged the judge out, shot him in the head and zoomed off.”

The incident, according to reports said the incident occurred at Ejemekwuru in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

Confirming the incident and the launching of the manhunt, the Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, ASP Henry Okoye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Friday: “We have commenced investigation to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act in order to bring them to justice.”

Earlier report said “some soldiers rushed down to the scene and took the victim to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where he was confirmed dead by a doctor.”

Until his gruesome murder while carrying out his legitimate assignment as a Judge/Customary Court Chairman, the victim,  Nnaemeka Ugboma, was aged 55.
