Photo News: Nigerians Await Outcome Of Obasanjo, Obi, Wike’s Meeting In London
Since Thursday, when President Olusegun Obasanjo met with the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in London, as part of the intense horse-trading preparatory to Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential Elections, observers have been eager to know the outcome.
The reasons for the high expectations are obvious: One, Obasanjo has remained a major force in the politics of Nigeria ever since he left office as president. His intervention is something very important
Two, Wike, who is still a serving PDP governor of Rivers State has become the beautiful bride of 2023 presidential election intrigues ever since he fell out with his party leadership. Holding a meeting with Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party is quite intriguing, taking into cognisance Obi’s rising profile as the most celebrated and reported candidate for the forthcoming Nigerian election.
Third, no fewer than three other serving governors elected on the ticket of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP): Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, also attended the crucial meeting.
Nigerians are eagerly waiting.
