Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has encouraged the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, not to give up in their efforts at resolving the numerous challenges threatening the survival of the party, assuring them that the challenges are not beyond remedy.

Obasanjo said this at a meeting of the leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with him in his house in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, when the members of the party’s National Working Committee paid him a visit.

Insider source says the meeting was centred on the survival of the political party and the way forward.

The National Chairman of the party, Taminu Turaki SAN, led the delegation that visited Obasanjo today, Saturday, at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library home in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Other leaders of the party that accompanied the chairman for the visit include former Governor of Niger State Babangida Aliyu, former Governor of Plateau State, Jona Jang, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Taofeek Arapaja, among others.

NewsOrient gathered that the leaders sought, among others, the former President’s opinion on how to solve the problems threatening the very existence of the once ruling party.

In a statement shared in it’s X platform, the political party quoted Obasanjo as advising the PDP National Working Committee to continue in it’s efforts at resolving the party’s challenges.
