The month of May is here and, suddenly, just like a dream, it is another second anniversary for Governor Alex Otti of Abia State. How time flies! Just two giant steps and the Governor has already imprinted his name on the sands of time. What a great benefit of change! What a great opportunity to try a new thing!

I am confessing, because I am involved, it has been a wonderful experience for the people and state of Abia.
Governor Otti has, to his credit, resolved many intractable quagmires like the completion of the Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the completion of the Aba/Obikabia Road and many others haunted by the ghost of dreams postponed.

There has been a total infrastructural renewal initiative that has changed the face of government buildings and structures. Many were demolished and new structures erected in their places.

We can only liken it to a wave of Midas Touch, changing the face of Abia.
The Micheal Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia is a new creation ditto for many other government structures.

All Health Centres in the state are being recreated. Then, there is the footprint of great dreams and great monuments like the Abia Industrial Innovation Park at Owaza in Ukwa West, the Abia Airport at Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North and the new Abia Medical City, a tourism cum medical hub.

The Omenuko Bridge has moved from an old folklore to a modern reality.

Governor Otti has also rebranded Abia State and regained trust and confidence for our dear state.

There is a new equity of trust, what I call nation rebranding. He has intentionally rebuilt the public image and perception of Abia. There is a new story about the state and outsiders can see a silver lining in the sky.

There is a renewed emotional connection and Abia is no more being displayed as an exhibit of backwardness but a place of reviving hope.

The Governor’s emergency interventionist strategies have renewed the faith of the world on Abia State.

Indeed, after the first one year of a sort of rebirth: creating a new template, installing new processes and procedures, overhauling and building new administrative structures, the second year has been a period of consolidation.

A period that has seen the opening up of rural access roads. The sing-song is ”Otti is Doing Well”
