Ohanaeze Warns Asari Dokubo Over Comments Against Ndigbo, Nnamdi Kanu
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has condemned in strong terms the recent outbursts of the ex-Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, against Ndigbo and his grandstanding that the Federal Government of Nigeria should not to release Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, notwithstanding several court rulings that Kanu must be released forthwith.
The Vice-President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, in a statement warned Dokubo to mind his careless utterances that tend to persuade the government to disobey it’s courts, stating that Dokubo’s views were prompted by personal and selfish interests to attract favour from the new government.
Ogene instead advised the Federal Government of Nigeria to heed the calls earlier made by Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State and other stakeholders to release Mazi Kanu as courts have ordered.
According to Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s Vice President, “restoration and promotion of the rule of law and respect for the fundamental human rights of individuals are key to stabilising the polity and restoring people’s confidence in governance.”
