On Thursday, 15th January 2026, the Farmers Association of Obingwa Local Government Area played host to the Convener of the Benjamin Okezie Kalu Ambassadors (BOKA), Amb. Dr. Jacob Mba Kalu, alongside his entourage at the Umuakoma Ohanze Town Hall, Obingwa LGA of Abia State. The delegation included Amb. Jeffery Onyekachi Chukwu, a Board Member of BOKA, and Amb. Pastor Peter Amaechi, a National Officer of the group.

The meeting, which drew a large gathering of farmers from across the area, was marked by enthusiasm and optimism as members of the association openly expressed their joy at the visit. They used the occasion to reaffirm their unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as their loyalty to Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. The farmers described the current political direction as one that promises inclusiveness, grassroots development, and renewed attention to agriculture.

In his address, Amb. Dr. Jacob Mba Kalu took time to extensively explain the philosophy and objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing its focus on economic recovery, food security, and improved living standards for ordinary Nigerians. He conveyed the deep love, commitment, and sense of responsibility Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has toward the people of Obingwa and the South East at large. According to him, both Mr. President and Rt. Hon. Kalu are determined to ensure that development initiatives do not remain abstract policies but translate into tangible benefits at the grassroots level.
Dr. Kalu further highlighted the strategic importance of the South East Development Commission, describing it as a critical vehicle for addressing long-standing infrastructural and economic gaps in the region. He assured the farmers that agriculture remains a key pillar of national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and that the voices of rural farmers would continue to be heard and prioritized.
Speaking next, Amb. Jeffery Onyekachi Chukwu, a Board Member of BOKA, reminded the gathering of the ongoing APC e-registration exercise. He urged members of the Farmers Association of Ohanze to seize the opportunity to formally register and become card-carrying members of the party. He noted that active participation in the party structure would strengthen their collective voice and position them to benefit more directly from government policies and interventions.
In his concluding remarks, Amb. Pastor Peter Amaechi reassured the farmers that they were firmly aligned with a leadership that understands their struggles and aspirations. He expressed confidence that with Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Renewed Hope partners, the expectations of the farmers would surely be met. Pastor Amaechi also commended Amb. Dr. Jacob Mba Kalu for honoring the invitation despite the short notice, appreciating him for the cash gift presented to the association.
He further announced Dr. Kalu’s promise to support the farmers with fertilizers, a gesture aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and improving livelihoods within the community. The meeting ended on a note of gratitude, renewed hope, and a shared commitment to sustaining collaboration between political leadership and grassroots stakeholders in Obingwa Local Government Area.
