President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lamented the level of poverty in Nigeria today and have stated that given the way Nigeria is blessed by God, there is no reason for Nigerians to be poor.

President Tinubu said these while receiving governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a special meeting.

According to a statement signed by his aide, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu said at the meey: “We have no reason to be poor. Looking back on where we are coming from, where we have been, why we are facing infrastructural decay, a lack of quality and comprehensive education, as well as a lack of health facilities. We are not a cursed country, but blessed.”

NewsOrient reports that never in the history of Nigeria has its citizens suffered so much hunger and poverty as is the case today under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led APC government.

Reports say part of the agenda of the Tinubu/APC governors’ meeting is to find possible solution to the hunger, anger and frustration in Nigeria amidst reports of ongoing multi trillion naira stealing by top government officials.
