Nigeria has qualified for AFCON final as it beat South Africa in the final penalty shoot out.

NewsOrient reports that although the resilient South African team dominated the field of play, Nigerian Super Eagles players displayed admirable staying power and focus.

From the beginning to the end of the final penalty shoot out, there seemed to be no tension free moment. It was a game to remember.

As at regulation time and extra time, the tensed semi final game ended 1-1 draw, with both goals scored through penalty kicks. The two goal keepers in particular showed top class with Nigerian goalkeeper, who stopped two penalty kicks in that single game, emerging the Man of the March.

As at the time of filing this report, it is not certain yet, which country will face Nigeria in the final game on Sunday as the game between Ivory Coast and DR Congo was still ongoing.

NewsOrient reports that whichever side that wins this night’s encounter, either Ivory Coast or DR Congo, will have to contend with Nigeria’s Super Eagles for the African trophy.
