Name Ebonyi Airport After Achebe, Anyaoku, Ironsi Or Ojukwu Instead Of Buhari, Sani Advises Umahi

Says It’s Immoral And Sychophantic To Name Two Airports After Buhari

Sen. Shehu Sani, an outspoken elder statesman from Kaduna State, has openly condemned Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi’s decision to name the newly constructed international airport in Ebonyi State after President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sani argued that another airport had already been named after President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that it is therefore “immoral and sycophantic to name two Airports in the country after Buhari.”

In a post he made via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, Sani said Buhari should respectfully decline the move to name the airport after him.

Instead, Sani wrote: “The construction of Ebonyi Airport is commendable. Kudos. But It’s immoral & sycophantic to name two airports in the country after Buhari. He should respectfully decline it.
“The airport should rather be named after Chinua Achebe, Emeka Anyaokwu, Victoria Ironsi or the Ikemba himself.”
