It was a fulfillment of a great expectation as French football superstar, Kylian Mbappe, finally kicked off his stay at Real Madrid with spectacular performance, August 14, 2024.

The French forward scored on his Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on Wednesday, putting Carlo Ancelotti’s side 2-0 up.

Mbappe, 25-year-old, joined Los Blancos this summer at the end of his Paris Saint-Germain contract after the Spanish champions spent years trying to sign him.

NewsOrient reports that Madrid finally announced Mbappe’s arrival in June this year but did not participate in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, leading to suggestions that he may not have really signed up with Real Madrid.

He was however presented before over 80,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish capital on July 16 before being allowed time off, from which he returned to begin training just a week ago.

Tobechi Ukonnu, a fan told NewsOrient that “Mbappe’s superlative outing on Wednesday is a sign that he would do well in his new team.”
