The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to raise the retirement age to 65 years or 40 years of service for all civil servants.

Pointing out that workers in some sectors are already enjoying this, Labour told the government to extend it to all civil servants.

Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, made this appeal while speaking during the May Day celebration at Eagle Square in Abuja, today, Thursday.

He said: “It is imperative to extend the revised retirement age of 65 years or 40 years of service currently enjoyed by teachers, health professionals, and judges to all public servants.”

Workers in the states also made varied demands during the celebrations.
