Kidnapping: Court Slams 21 Years Jail Term On Evans
Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos has handed a 21 years jail sentence to Billionaire kidnapper, Evans (full name: Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike).
Evans and his co-defendant, Victor Aduba, were found guilty of conspiring and kidnapping Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia, on 23 June 2014 at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
They were alleged to have captured and detained Hafia and demanded $2 million ransom.
Although they pleaded not guilty to the four charges, they were found guilty by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo.
Delivering the judgment, the judge held that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to other aspiring kidnappers.
It would be recalled that Evans was arrested in June 2017 at his Magodo, Lagos residence.
