The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a notice for the conduct of the 2027 General Elections.

The notice shows that the Presidential and National Assembly elections will be held on February 20, 2027, while the Governorship and State Assembly elections will be held on March 6 2027.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, issued this notice at a news conference on Friday in Abuja.

NewsOrient notes that this is even as the National Assembly is yet to pass into law the amended Electoral Act.
We also recall areas of heated controversy in the proposed amendments, including the electronic transmission and real time transmission provisions.
