I Am Not Sick, But Just Asked To Be Pushed Around, Says Charly Boy

“No be say anything dey do me. I just lazy/tired as I dey waka upandown for airport. So I tell officials make dem just dey push me around.”

That was how Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, reacted to a viral photo of him sitting in a wheelchair and being pushed by officials at the airport.

Reacting to the picture of the veteran Nigerian singer, actor and activist, some Nigerians had expressed concern over his health while others alleged that there was nothing wrong with the thespian but that he was most likely mimicking Nigerian Chief Justice who allegedly disguised on a wheelchair recently to sneak out of the country to the United Kingdom to secretly meet with Nigeria’s President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his latest reaction to the controversy, Charly Boy confirmed he was not sick, adding however that he was also not mimicking the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

According to him, he was just tired after walking for a long time and so he asked airport officials to help push him around.

In a tweet shared on Saturday, Charly Boy wrote: “I apologize if I made anybody worry about me.
