Peace loving people of Anambra State and the entire Nation have been shedding tears since yesterday when the Police confirmed the brutal killing of the kidnapped lawmaker representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Okechukwu Okoye.

The killers beheaded the late lawmaker, left the severed head and made away with the body.

Hon Okechukwu Okoye’s head was found at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area where it was hanged.

His body was not found there, an indication that the killers may have made away with it.

Report said after the kidnapping of the lawmaker and his aide, the police recovered the car and deployed operatives to rescue them.

Only on Friday, Soludo offered hope of rescuing the lawmaker while presenting Anambra’s revised budget to lawmakers.

But yesterday, Anambra Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed that the lawmaker has been killed.

He said: “His head was found along Nnobi road today (Saturday). There is no suspect in custody yet.”
