Former Military Head of State of Nigeria, General Yakubu Gowon, has denied the rumour and reports of his death.

Some social media outfits reported on Monday, October 9, 2023 that the retired Nigerian Army General and Head of State gave up at the age of 89.

However, a statement signed by Gowon’s Personal Media Aide, Adeyeye E. Ajayi, on Monday night, said the former military leader is still alive.

“I am still around and well. I am not in a hurry,” Ajayi quoted Gowon as saying.
