There was fire outbreak today at the highrise office of the United Bank for Africa, UBA, branch on Lagos Island.

Although as at the time of filing this report, both management of the bank and that of rescue operatives are yet to make official statements on the cause of the fire and casualty, NewsOrient reports that help took time to come to trapped Nigerians.

When it seems fire fighters will never come, staff members of the bank and some other Nigerians trapped in the building decided to help themselves, with some desperately jumping down through windows in the top floors.

Already, video clips of the desperate actions are trending on social media.
However, we report that fire fighters eventually came to the scene.
