FG Names Oluwatoyin Madein The New Accountant General of the Federation
Outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of Nigeria has appointed Oluwatoyin Madein as the new Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
She is the first female to occupy that position in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the president’s Director of Communication, Mohammed Ahmed, on Friday, May 19.
The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Sakirat Oluwatoyin Madein as the substantive Accountant-General of the Federation following the successful conduct of a selection process to fill the existing vacancy.
The head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, also confirmed the appointment on Friday.
“The appointment is with effect from Thursday, May 18.”
She served as the Director, Finance and Accounts, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Madein, an indigene of Ogun state, holds a Ph.D. in Management Finance from Walden University, Minnesota, USA.
