DSS Releases Mama Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu’s Foster Mother, From Detention

Reports reaching us this afternoon say the Department of State Services (DSS), today,  Sunday, August 28, 2022, released Madam Ukamaka Ejezie, popularly called Mama Biafra.

It would be recalled that Mama Biafra, an 80 year old foster mother of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was arrested during Kanu’s last appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja on May 18, 2022.

As at the time of filing this report, details of her release are yet to be released but Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of the top lawyers representing Nnamdi Kanu today tweeted that the 80 year old lady, who became Kanu’s foster mother since his parents died, has finally been released by DSS.

He said, “I am very delighted to inform you all that Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra) has regained her freedom. She is now out of DSS dungeon. Thank thee Chukwuokike Abiama for this huge success.”
