President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerian citizens to keep hope alive “as the dark days of sacrifice are almost over.”

The President spoke ahead of the country’s 66th Independence Day anniversary to be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, during the Independence Day Jumat prayer at the National Mosque, Abuja, on Friday, Tinubu noted that although Nigeria was yet to be where it should be, it is on the path to greatness.
