Court Gives Nnamdi Kanu Six Days To Open And Close Case, Says He’s Fit To Stand Trial

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, has given the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (defendant), six consecutive days, beginning from October 23, to open and close his defence in the ongoing case between the Department of State Service, DSS and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
This is even as the medical investigation committee Justice Omotosho earlier ordered to ascertain the actual health status of the defendant, Kanu, declared that the ailment complained by Kanu, “is not life-threatening,” and that he is medically fit to face trial.
Based on the information contained in the report, Justice Omotosho said the court was convinced that the defendant could proceed with the trial.
The court then adjourned the case to October 23, 2025, for further hearing.
