The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has adjourned the defamation case between Governor Alex Otti and Sir Don Ubani (Gov. Alex Otti vs. Sir Don Ubani) to the 20th day of January 2026.

The suit marked as FCT/HC/CV/4474/2024 came up for continuation of hearing today; November 3, 2025 before Hon. Justice N. K. Nwosu-Iheme of the FCT High Court.

The Defendant, Sir Don Ubani was present in Court with his Counsel for the cross examination of Arch. Uche Jude Uche, who is testifying as PW1 on behalf of Gov. Alex Otti.

Our correspondent, who observed the proceedings, reported that Arch Uche was consistent in his answers to questions by the Defense Counsel that he has the consent and authority of the Claimant to represent him in the matter.

Arch Uche disclosed that he has known the Claimant for 47 years since 1978.

Arch Uche volunteered information that the Claimant’s mandate to him was not written.

Arch Uche, in answer to questions by the Defense Counsel if he has knowledge of the Claimant’s net worth before and after becoming a Governor, said No.

To another question, he stated that he would not know if the Defendant’s Facebook account was hacked.

The Defense Counsel ended his cross examination and the senior Counsel for the Claimant, Dr. Sonny Ajala, SAN, informed the court that there’s no re-examination of PW1 and sought an adjournment for him to assess his case and probably call his other witnesses who will testify for the Claimant.

The matter was accordingly adjourned to 20/1/2026 for continuation of hearing.
