Buhari To Present 2023 Budget To NASS On Friday
It has been scheduled that Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will, on Friday, present to the National Assembly, N19.76 trillion Budget for 2023.
It would be recalled that the President signed the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law with an aggregate expenditures of N17.127 trillion, an increase of N735.85 billion over the initial executive proposal for a total expenditure of N16.391 trillion on this year’s New Year Eve.
It is also on record that the President laid the 2022 budget proposal before the National Assembly on 7th October 2021.
So, when he presents the 2023 budget before the lawmakers this Friday, it would be exactly a year after.
As soon as the lawmakers resumed plenary on Tuesday, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read Buhari’s letter of request to present the 2023 budget at plenary.
The presentation, according to the letter, would take place by 10:00 am at the temporary chamber of the House of Representatives due to ongoing renovation works in both chambers.
