The Abia State Petition Election Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, has dismissed the petition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and it’s candidate filed against the election of Labour Party’s Dr Alex Otti as the Governor of Abia State.

The tribunal threw out the petition this afternoon for “lack of merit.”

NewsOrient reports that as at the time of filing this report, the tribunal was on break. When it resumes this afternoon, it will also give it’s ruling on the petition filed by All Progressives Congress (APC) against Otti.

It would be recalled that the tribunal earlier promised to deliver judgment on the petition challenging the declaration of Dr Alex Otti as winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Abia State.

Both the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the March 18 governorship election, Chief Ikechi Emenike, and the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, Okey Ahaiwe filed petitions challenging Otti’s election.
