The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has directed Hon (Barr) Eze Chikamnayo, a former Commissioner in Abia State during the administration of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, to appear before it and prove his statement that Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, “is a confirmed criminal.”

In a ruling and Order made on the case, Alex Chioma Otti OFR vs. Hon (Barr) Eze Chikamnayo, on 16th October 2025, Hon. Justice O. J. Enoble, sitting at Jabi, Abuja, granted the prayers contained in the application of the Claimant, Dr Alex Otti and argued by his Counsel, Dr. Sonny Ajala, SAN, for the Defendant to be served the Writ and other court processes by the substituted means of electronic service via the Defendant’s Facebook page ‘Iyierioba and the Defendant’s WhatsApp platform.

Sequel to the Order of Court, our reporter sighted the Order of the Court, the Hearing Notice and the Affidavit of service deposed to by the Bailiff of the Court that the court processes have been effectively served on the Defendant.

In his Statement, the
Claimant claims against the Defendant as follows:

A DECLARATION that the Claimant’s reputation, respect, goodwill and standing as a person, husband, father and a political leader has been grossly injured and the Claimant has suffered grave damage owing to the Defendants persistent false and malicious online publications of TV contents defamatory of the Claimant on the Defendant’s Facebook Wall, titled; Iyierioba Chikamnayo with 6.4K (six thousand, four hundred) followers on the dates and captions set-out thus; on 22/9/2025, ‘ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND DISASTER; on 21/9/2025, FIGHTING PROMAX, on 14/9/2025, OLD OR NEW ABIA?; on 13/9/2025, SABBATH MESSAGE; on 9/9/2025, STILL ON THE MATTER; on 15/8/2025, ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND CONGENITAL LIAR=LOOTING GOVERNOR; and on 21/7/2025, and GOVERNMENT OF ALEX OTTIHIEF FOR ZIGNATURE BANK=RUIN ABIA.

“AN ORDER of the Honorable Court restraining the Defendant from writing and/or syndicating the writing by the Defendant of further disparaging materials against the Claimant for publication and circulation on the Defendants Facebook Wall, titled; Iyierioba Chikamnayo with 6.4K (six thousand, four hundred) followers.

“AN ORDER of the Honorable Court directing the Defendant to pay the Claimant, general damages of N100,000,000,000.00 (One Hundred Billion Naira) only for the loss of reputation, psychological and emotional trauma suffered by the Claimant owing to the falsehood and malicious online publications of contents defamatory of the Claimant on the Defendants Facebook Wall titled; Iyierioba Chikamnayo with 6.4K (six thousand, four hundred) followers on the dates and captions set-out thus; on 22/9/2025, ‘ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND DISASTER; on 21/9/2025, FIGHTING PROMAX, on 14/9/2025, OLD OR NEW ABIA?; on 13/9/2025, SABBATH MESSAGE; on 9/9/2025, STILL ON THE MATTER; on 15/8/2025, ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND CONGENITAL LIAR=LOOTING GOVERNOR; and on 21/7/2025, and GOVERNMENT OF ALEX OTTIHIEF FOR ZIGNATURE BANK=RUIN ABIA.

“AN ORDER of the Honorable Court directing the Defendant to tender unreserved apology to the Claimant for each of the cocktail of the malicious online publications of contents defamatory of the Claimant on the Defendants Facebook Wall titled; Iyierioba Chikamnayo on 22/9/2025, ‘ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND DISASTER; on 21/9/2025, FIGHTING PROMAX, on 14/9/2025, OLD OR NEW ABIA?; on 13/9/2025, SABBATH MESSAGE; on 9/9/2025, STILL ON THE MATTER; on 15/8/2025, ALEX OTTHIEF IS A CONFIRMED CRIMINAL AND CONGENITAL LIAR=LOOTING GOVERNOR; and on 21/7/2025, and GOVERNMENT OF ALEX OTTIHIEF FOR ZIGNATURE BANK=RUIN ABIA and the said unreserved apology to be published on the Defendants Facebook Wall Wall titled; Iyierioba Chikamnayo and in four National Newspapers, specifically the Thisday Newspaper, the national Ambassador Newspaper, the Punch Newspaper and the Nation Newspaper.

“AN ORDER of perpetual injunction of the Honorable Court restraining the Defendant from writing, authoring, sharing, broadcasting, voicing, forwarding and/or syndicating the writing and publication of contents defamatory of the Claimant on the Defendants Facebook Wall; Iyierioba Chikamnayo and/or any other social/digital media platforms such as the X, the Instagram, the Telegram, the WhatsApp, the Tiktok, including the traditional media to wit; the newspaper houses, the radio and television stations of all descriptions.

“N250,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million) being the cost of prosecuting this suit.”

The writ was issued by Dr. Sonny Ajala, SAN, Legal Practitioner whose address for service is Deeplaw Associates, Plot 188, Durumi District, Abuja, Counsel for the said Claimant of Plot 188, Durumi District, Abuja Abuja FCT.

It is dated the 8th Day of October, 2025.
