Professor Dapo Thomas, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (FNIIA) and Professor of International Relations at the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University (LASU), is set to publicly present and launch his Autobiography at an event scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 9 at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Olowo-popo Way, Ikeja, Alausa. The Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello mni, NPOM is the Special Guest of Honour at the event.

In a press statement released by his Media Assistant, Mr. Hakeem Layeni, the public presentation of the book titled: “Lagos Boy and Lagos Politics” , is expected to attract members of the academic community, policymakers, students, and members of the public interested in international relations and foreign policy.

Professor Thomas obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science with specialization in International Relations from the University of Ibadan in 2014. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the then University of Ife.

His research focuses on international politics, particularly the relationship between the United States and the Global South, with emphasis on diplomacy, power, and development.

The scholar is the author of The Political Economy of Nigeria–United States Relations (2018), a book that examines the political and economic dimensions of bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United States. His other notable publications include The Next World War: Not Near, But Not So Far, International Conflict in a Putin’s World, Errand War: An Observer’s Perspective on the Russian-Ukrainian War, A Road Metaphor on Nigeria’s Foreign Policy, and When the Past is Dead, What is History Doing Alive?

Professor Dapo is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) and a member of the Association of Foreign Relations Practitioners of Nigeria. His works have contributed significantly to scholarly debates on Nigeria’s foreign policy, international diplomacy, and global affairs.
