The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has directed all Abia State public office holders to declare their assets even as he described compliance with asset declaration policy as “a minimum standard for every public office holder in Nigeria.”

The Governor said these when he received top officials of Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, South-East zone in his office on Tuesday.

He explained that he and the Deputy Governor of Abia State “duly declared” their assets “before assumption of office.”

He added: “All political appointees and public officers in the State must comply with the constitutional requirement in asset declaration.”

The Zonal Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, South-East zone, who led the team to the visit, Mr Akinfolarin Feyishola, in his address appealed to Governor Otti to assist the CCB in enlightening Abia public office holders on assets declaration.
