Lagos State, Government today, Thursday, 25th September 2025, began demolition of some buildings at Trade Fair Complex in Ojo, Lagos.

Lagos State Government described the numerous buildings it marked for demolition at the place as “unsafe and illegal buildings.”

A report sourced from Channels Television said “The operation was carried out jointly by the Ministry of Physical Planning, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency, and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority.”

NewsOrient reports that Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the demolition exercise in a post on X.“

Video footages of the ongoing demolition exercise shows heavy security in the area.
