To tackle insecurity in Nigeria, the Senate, on Thursday, asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sign into law the Nigerian Forest Security Service (Establishment) Bill, 2025.

NewsOrient reports that the National Assembly recently passed the bill but that up till yesterday’s plenary at the Red Chamber, the same bill is still awaiting presidential assent.

The Senate adopted this resolution to call for the presidential assent after the submission of two bills sponsored by the Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro and Sen. Sunday Karimi, condemning the abduction of His Royal Highness, Oba James Dada Ogunyanda, the Obalohun of Okoloke, in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and the deadly attacks on communities in Benue State by suspected herdsmen.
