If the expectation of the mobilisers of the ongoing #EndBadGovernance Protest in Nigeria materialises, tomorrow’s protest march will record 37 million angry Nigerians marching on the streets to protest “bad governance,” “hardship” and “hunger.”

“Despite attacks, we’re mobilising 37 million Nigerians for the August 10th protest against bad governance,” said one of the protest mobilisers, Abiodun Sanusi.

Sanusi told Arise News Television that mobilising 37 million Nigerians to protest against bad governance “is not a big deal,” given the country’s population of over 220 million.

Abiodun said these in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday.

Explaining the reason for the protest on August 10th, he said “the refusal of the president to listen to our demands, the assault on protesters and journalists during the last days have only encouraged us further.”

On the suggestion that the protesters and government of Nigeria should embrace dialogue, Biodun said: “We are not interested in any closed-door meeting or dialogue.

“If the president wants to dialogue, he should come to the Eagle’s Square in Abuja and speak to millions of Nigerians, just as he did on May 29th or June 12th.”
