There are indications that the newly appointed Head Coach of Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, Finidi George, is currently under pressure to appoint his former team mates, Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amunike as his assistants.

This is notwithstanding the fact that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) had assured that the new Super Eagles coach will be given a free hand to pick his assistants.

NewsOrient learnt that George, who, it seems, will prefer to pick his assistants without the promptings of powerful elements in Nigerian football administration, may have been told to consider the benefits of working with Amokachi and Amunike.

It would be recalled that the two former internationals, Amokachi and Amunike, besides being former team mates with George in Super Eagles, also reportedly applied for the Head Coach job.

Also, some fans of the two former prized players are advancing reasons why George must not look elsewhere for his assistants.

Will George finally yield to the pressure?
