As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Commends Jim Obazee’s Efforts, Wishes Him Well.

Jim Obazee, the Special Investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to investigate the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and other related agencies has concluded the task.

According to the Presidency, Mr Obazee also sent a “final comprehensive report” to Mr President on Friday.

A statement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, confirmed the development.

The statement said: “President Bola Tinubu thanks Mr Jim Obazee, former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), for his services as the Special Investigator of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other related entities, upon his appointment on July 28, 2023.

“The President commends Mr Obazee for his dedication and professionalism in handling the complexities of this critical national assignment.

“After the conclusion of the assignment and the submission of a final comprehensive report, and with the winding up of all apparatuses used during the scope of the task which terminated on March 31, 2024, the investigation is formally closed, with all appropriate law enforcement and regulatory agencies already conducting follow-up action,” Mr Ngelale wrote.

NewsOrient reports that Nigerians are eager to hear the details of the findings and to see how the government will follow up on the recommendations made by the Special Investigator.
