Over 20m Fake Names In INEC’s Voters List, Says Intersociety
In spite of recent claims of deletion of fake names in the voters list by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, there still exists over twenty million fake names on the list.
This assertion was made by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety).
The body also described Nigeria’s voters’ list as the dirtiest in the world, with more than 20 million fake, underage and stolen identities, a list, the group termed the “poll rigging engine house for 2023.”
Intersociety disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Onitsha, Eastern Nigeria and signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, Chinwe Umeche Esquire and Chidinma Udegbunam Esquire, while making reference to its 24-page special investigative report of October 26 wherein it exposed 50 rigging plots allegedly hatched under the watch of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) wishes to state categorically and authoritatively that Nigeria presently operates the dirtiest Voters’ List in the democratic world; polluted with fake and ineligible identities numbering over 20 million,” it said .
