2027 Elections: Youth Advocate, Onwuneme, Warns Tinubu Over Defection Deceit, One Party State

A youth advocate, Engr. Nwabueze Onwuneme, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against believing the ongoing deceit built around governors’ and lawmakers’ defections to his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), ahead of 2027 Elections in Nigeria.
Onwuneme said the organised defections of shameless politicians to the ruling All Progressive Congress, purporting that their actions shows Tinubu-led Federal Government of Nigeria’s growing popularity, cannot deceive even a fool.
“The so-called State governors, lawmakers and business tycoons masquerading as leaders of the people at the grassroots, are nothing but exposed corrupt political merchants, who are busy colluding with President Tinubu’s corrupt henchmen in Abuja to loot Nigeria dry.
“May I therefore use this medium to inform President Tinubu that these discredited political leaders, currently dancing naked in the public, smiling home with billions of naira, being parts of the blind looting ongoing in Abuja, while promising President Tinubu and APC of victory in 2027 Elections in the face of untold hunger and suffering of common Nigerians, are nothing but thieves trying to take Mr President for a ride.
“Their greed, selfishness and wickedness have been exposed to the hungry, suffering and angry majority of Nigerians, who are the real voters,” Onwuneme said.
The youth advocate added that “hungry and angry Nigerians, especially the frustrated youths across Nigeria, are not and will never be deceived in 2027.
“We know the wicked and corrupt political merchants believe and have lied to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the votes of majority of Nigerians do not count as they, the so- called leaders, will ensure there will be no free, fair and credible election in Nigeria come 2027, and so, they will just repeat their usual corrupt gimmick of writing and announcing themselves and Mr President as winners.
“Mr President, this lie, this old template will not work in 2027. Nigerians, especially the youths, are wiser and more determined to survive.
Nigerian people are currently suffering so much deprivations, feeling of insecurity, glaring insensitivity on the part of their leaders, leading to hunger and frustration as never witnessed before in Nigeria, while the so-called leaders continue to share trillions of Nigeria’s common wealth,” Onwuneme said.
Since the deceit of these so-called leaders is now known to Nigerians, may I tell you, Mr President, that if you want the votes of Nigerians in 2027, ignore the lies of your hangers on, solve the challenges of hunger, insecurity and other frustrating realities in the country,” Onwuneme said.
Zeroing on Southeast, Onwuneme wondered why handlers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will dream of winning in the grossly deprived region come 2027?
He said: “Southeast region has always been a victim of marginalisation in Nigeria long before the emergence of Tinubu’s Government but never has the marginalisation and the neglect of this region been done with so much insensitivity. So, it sounds totally naive for Tinubu’s henchmen to believe mere purchase of some political merchants, claiming they can make Tinubu to win votes in the neglected Southeast region.
“In reality, to garner the required 25 percent votes from the Southeast will require radical change of strategy aimed at wooing the people, not by listening to and feeding some political merchants.
“So, may I advice President Tinubu that the so-called political leaders he seems to be relying on no longer have the supporters they claim they have and so, spending billions of Naira from Nigeria’s common purse to lure them to APC will not help him in 2027.
If Mr President truly wants to get votes from the Southeast, the right approach is to change APC’s current policy of marginalisation of the region.”
Commenting on APC’s current craze to make Nigeria a one-party state as a way of ensuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027, Onwuneme said: “It is a disgrace that Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who began his political career in Nigeria as a democrat, is today working so hard to turn Nigeria to a one party State just because he sees it as the only way to get reelection.
“It is important to let him know that in 2027, Nigerians, especially the youths will vote for candidates not political parties. Mr President needs to get his strategy right,” he said.
