As the intrigues for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the June 6, 2022 Presidential Primaries peaks in the Southwest geo-political zone, NewsOrient learnt that majority of the APC serving governors may have resolved to support the Vice President, Professor Yomi Osinbajo.

As would be expected, the governors’ new dancing step is intensifying the already heated political atmosphere as supporters of the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, warn that any decision not to support the APC National Leader would amount to betrayal.

The suspicion that the governors may have resolved to line behind the Vice President, according to a source, is boosted by the way many of them recently paid Osinbajo special visits in Aso Rock at this critical moment.

It would be recalled that governors of Ogun State and Ekiti are among the governors that were recently reported in the media as paying special visits to Osinbajo in Abuja.

Though the details of the discussions the governors had with Osinbajo were made made public, many alleged one of the issues discussed was possible consensus candidate for APC in the person of Prof. Yomi Osinbajo.
